June 2014 Integrated Solutions For Retailers
Sharing information internally, with law enforcement agencies, and with competing retailers is the key to thwarting organized retail crime.
Larry Lundeen has a lot of experience protecting important things from organized criminals. As a special agent with the Secret Service, he served vice-presidential protection duties and worked on the antiterrorism investigative task force in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Today, the world’s largest corporation is putting the principles of investigative collaboration Lundeen honed at the Secret Service to good use. Lundeen is senior director, global investigations/GISAT (global investigations, security aviation, and travel) at Walmart. His charge, in part, is to protect global Walmart assets from the ill intent of ORC (organized retail crime) rings. We recently had the opportunity to discuss those efforts with Lundeen.
