Early adopter Urban Outfitters cites visibility into ticketing lead times

FineLine Technologies Inc. is initializing the rollout of FastTrak Analytics, a web-based solution which provides detailed visibility into variable ticketing supply lead times, with leading retailers including Urban Outfitters.

FastTrak Analytics is the newest addition to the FastTrak platform, an Internet-based solution for order processing, tracking and management of the ticketing function. The analytical reporting tool will provide FineLine’s base of 200 brand name retail customers with three core reports:

  • Order turnaround time — average time between receipt of an order by FineLine and shipment of tickets.
  • Order received time — average time between receipt of an order by FineLine and delivery of tickets to vendors.
  • Orders shipped to country — average time between receipt of an order by FineLine and delivery of tickets to vendors in a specific country.

“FineLine understands our supply chain and is the first supplier to provide us with real-time reporting for both shipping and received-at-vendor performance metrics. This real-time information helps us to better manage our ticketing supply chain,” said Jay Hallett, Vendor Relations Manager, at Urban Outfitters, a leading specialty store retailer of women’s and men’s fashion apparel, footwear and accessories.

To develop FastTrak Analytics, FineLine Technologies devised an automated system to analyze and report real-time data, including shipping and delivery times from its four manufacturing facilities to over 15,000 vendors within retail customers’ supply chains.

“Speed to market is critical for our retail customers,” said George Hoffman, CEO, FineLine Technologies. “With FastTrak Analytics, we deliver a whole new level of analytics. Now our customers can rest assured they are using the most updated and accurate data before releasing orders.”

The detailed granularity of data from FastTrak Analytics provides retailers with a new level of insight into their ticketing supply lead times. For an example of the precision of the metrics, FineLine found that its average order turnaround time on over 300,000 orders shipped so far this year is 2.33 business days, and the average delivery time to vendors around the world is 5.30 business days. Delivery time to vendors includes the order turnaround time, and so it represents the total time a retailer can expect its tickets and labels to reach its vendors. Many orders ship within the first 24 hours.

To use FastTrak Analytics, the retailer simply chooses a start date and end date to evaluate. The system then provides a real-time view of the three sets of lead-time data, specific to the retailer’s own business, offering dashboard views of charts which can be easily exported or pasted into e-mail and other programs.
