Natural Optics Chooses ADT To Protect Its Stores In Spain

ADT, the world's leading provider of electronic fire and security solutions, has signed an agreement with Natural Optics to provide anti-theft systems for its entire chain of eyewear stores in Spain. ADT will offer the 117 Natural Optics centers a variety of its Sensormatic®-brand UltraMax® anti-theft systems, enabling each store to choose the model that best suits its aesthetic and business needs. All UltraMax anti-theft system models incorporate acousto-magnetic technology, which is used for theft protection by many of the world's leading retailers due to its high rate of anti-theft tag detection.

ADT will also supply Natural Optics with special anti-theft tags designed specifically for display frames. Due to their small size, the tags do not inconvenience customers wishing to try on the frames and can be used to add information such as price, barcode and store logo, avoiding the need for several labels on a single frame.

"For us, the visual health of our customers is fundamental, which means we must give them our full attention," said Ignasi Solé, managing director of Natural Optics. "That's why we need to entrust the protection of our frames to a partner like ADT, whose security systems offer reliable and accurate detection, allowing our opticians to focus solely on each customer's sight problems."

Ignacio Cuenca, ADT marketing manager for Spain and Portugal, said the broad range of ADT's anti-theft systems can be adapted to the décor of each optical store, while also offering optimum article protection. "The tags are designed not to interfere with the customer's shopping experience, leaving a customer free to try on frames without discomfort," Cuenca said.

Natural Optics becomes the third retailer in Spain and Portugal to announce plans this year to install ADT's anti-theft technology. ADT recently signed contracts with Spain's Fun & Basics Fashion Stores and electronics retailer Media Markt in Portugal. In addition, ADT was honored with Spain's 2006 Futurshop Award for Best Anti-theft Innovation for its XBR Loss Prevention and Sensormatic SmartEAS technologies. The Futurshop Awards recognize the best products, services and projects in the retail trade and distribution sector and were awarded as part of the Exporetail 2006 fair, which brought together representatives of major retailers and retail suppliers from Spain and abroad.
