SATO Establishes SATO Healthcare Australia

SATO (TSE:6287), a leading global provider of Auto-ID solutions that empower workforces and streamline operations today announced the establishment of SATO Healthcare Australia Pty Ltd.

With the acquisition of Magellan Technology in 2013, the SATO Group nearly tripled its healthcare segment revenue in Australia The newly established SATO Healthcare Australia will consolidate the healthcare business of the SATO Group in Australia. It will particularly focus on serving healthcare accounts in Australia and patient safety solutions featuring Auto-ID technology and the unique PJM RFID Technology to meet the needs of the growing¹ healthcare market.

In 2014, SATO established SATO Healthcare Co., Ltd. in Tokyo, as a spin-off from SATO Corporation, to support special demands for Auto-ID solutions in the medical field and globally leverage its expertise and knowledge-base of tracking goods using Auto-ID technology. SATO Healthcare has been rapidly capturing market share in the medical sector since, especially with its core business—patient safety solutions—utilizing its unique PJM RFID technology. The unit has reported approximately 48% growth of revenue in the global healthcare segment since inception.
