Staples Canada Partners With Instacart To Offer Same-Day Delivery In The GTA

First-of-its-kind partnership brings one-hour delivery to busy Staples customers across Toronto

Staples Canada continues its commitment to become The Working and Learning Company by partnering with Instacart, a North American leader in online groceries, on a pilot to offer same-day delivery to customers in select locations in the Greater Toronto Area. The Staples Canada pilot marks the first time Instacart is testing in this category alongside its growing grocery delivery business in Canada.

Staples Canada customers in the GTA can now have their working and learning products delivered in as fast as one hour by ordering through the Instacart mobile app or Instacart.ca. Five Staples Canada locations in the GTA are participating in the pilot, including: 3150 Dufferin Street, 250 Front Street East, 1140 Yonge Street, 542 Keele Street and 32 Steeles Avenue West.

"Our customers, whether they're entrepreneurs, parents, students or teachers, have hectic schedules and we want to make it easier for them to get the tools they need to be successful," said David Boone, Chief Executive Officer, Staples Canada. "This partnership with Instacart enhances our eCommerce experience, providing our customers with the added convenience of same-day delivery, on top of our already rich delivery options."

"Instacart is excited to partner with Staples Canada to test a new delivery category that many of our Canadian customers have been asking for," said Andrew Nodes, VP of Retail Accounts, Instacart. "Whether stocking their pantry or desk, busy people in homes and businesses across North America are looking for more convenient, time efficient ways to get the groceries and goods they need from the retailers in their neighborhoods that they love."

For Instacart orders of $35 or more, the delivery fee is just $3.99. With an Instacart Express membership for $9.99/month or an annual fee of $99, customers get unlimited, free delivery on all orders over $35.

Instacart same-day delivery joins Staples Canada's extensive list of quick and convenient delivery options through staples.ca. Separate from the Instacart partnership, The Working and Learning Company offers next-day delivery to 85% of the Canadian market as well as two-hour buy online, pick up in-store services.

Today, Instacart is currently accessible to more than 80% of U.S. households, and in all 50 states, and more than 60% of Canadian households. Instacart partners with more than 300 beloved national, regional and local retailers, and serves nearly 20,000 different grocery stores across more than 5,500 cities in North America.
