We recently caught up with Catherine Johnston, president & CEO at ACT Canada, about EMV conversion. She addresses our questions about the evolution of the POS and what’s in store for retailers adopting EMV.  

What are the myths and realities of the evolution of the POS?

Johnston: The most dangerous myth is that customers expect merchants to support every new payment mechanism made possible by technology.  The reality is that customers expect mainstream methods to be supported and are prepared to use one of them to pay.
