Retailers Explore Panama

In February, The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) in cooperation with the Panama Canal Port Authority was given the exclusive opportunity to take a group of retail executives from America's largest and most successful retailers on a three-day trip to Panama to better understand Panama's role as the logistics and transportation hub of the Americas. Retailers' primary interest in the region was to view Panama's business-friendly environment, understand the state of the supporting logistics infrastructure, and determine the opportunities available to them in the region. The trip included meetings with service providers, key government officials, and local business leaders, including Panamanian Vice Minister of Foreign Trade José Domingo Arias.
