New smart safes save Wawa store managers 90 minutes per day.

C-stores take many measures to guard against shrink, and Wawa, a chain of more than 570 convenience stores (200 offering gasoline), is no different. Wawa stores are located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virgina. Most stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and the company employs 16,000 people. Wawa needed to fix labor inefficiencies associated with cash management while also guarding against shrink. Anne Kerstetter, store operations cash manager at Wawa, had to find a cash management solution that would both secure cash and free the store managers’ time.
