Advanced Retail Planning: Galleria Launches Version 6 Of Its Advanced Retail Planning Solutions

Galleria Retail Technology Solutions today announced the introduction of Version 6 of its automated assortment and space planning solutions - Automated Micro Assortment Planner (AMAP) and Automated Micro Space Planner (AMSP). Version 6 includes enhancements to Galleria's demand intelligence engine, Solutions Platform, and is modelled on feedback from some of the world's leading retailers. It will retain all of the rich functionality and control offered by Version 5, but will integrate the dynamics of a category review process to provide enhanced usability and ease of adoption aligned with a retailer's business process. Users can now better control, challenge and understand the consequences of assortment and space planning decisions to the business.

"Galleria has been providing automated assortment and space planning solutions to the worlds' leading retailers for more than 17 years," said Jef Richards, CTO, Galleria Retail Technology Solutions. "The release of Version 6 of our suite of automated products is another industry first for Galleria. Retailers will be able to quickly implement the solution into their existing business process with a reduced level of user training."

Version 6 of Galleria's automated solutions offers retailers an overall enhanced user interface with a user-friendly, simplified workflow for faster user adoption and an increased return on investment.

Additionally, the latest version of AMAP allows expert users to identify category profiles which drive assortment decisions by determining the key drivers and performance indicators for the category in line with the retailer's strategy. This ensures that consistent category strategy is maintained and reflective of the retailer's business aims and supply chain constraints.

Finally, Galleria's latest release of the products includes flexible reporting options, such as additional scenario reporting within AMAP to allow retailers to analyze a number of different category assortments simultaneously to quickly compare the impact of different assortment decisions. "What if" reporting allows users to truly understand the consequence of change, the ability to challenge it and then move ahead with the optimal result.

"The enhanced features included in the latest release of our automated products build on our well-established optimization solutions used by retailers across the world," said Shaun Bossons, Executive Vice President: US, Galleria. "Designed with the needs of the retailer in mind and based on retailer input, our goal is to make the entire user experience more informative and interactive while preserving the functionality and robustness of the world's most advanced assortment and space planning solution."
