Amazon Kindle App Incorporates Audio

Amazon Kindle app Android and iOS users can now enjoy a free voice software update included into their Kindle app, allowing for readers to conveniently switch between reading and listening to content without ever having to close the app.
With Whispersync voice technology and compatible audiobook from Audible, Kindle app users can be absorbed into their favorite book at any time of the day. “Integrating professional narration into our Kindle apps means you never have to put down a favorite book—start reading at home, get in the car and simply tap a button to continue listening without losing your place,” stated Russ Grandinetti, Senior Vice President, Amazon Kindle.
The Kindle app is available for free installation on Android, iOS, both that now provide Audible. The app can also be installed for reading on Mac, Windows 8 PC/tablet, BlackBerry or Windows Phone. Owners of the Kindle Fire, Touch and Keyboard can listen and read between their Kindle and other devices. Amazon’s Whispersync technology links all devices together, syncing bookmarks, highlights, and notes—allowing for reading to take place on a smartphone, and saving the spot when the user switches to another device. Now, Whispersync is delivering even more quality features with the incorporation of voice. According to Audible founder and CEO, Donald Katz, having the opportunity to switch between reading and listening is becoming the favored way to experience stories.
Voice activation is accessible on over 45,000 Kindle books and continually growing—books including mysteries, biographies, sci-fi, best sellers, and new releases, such as The Fault in Our Stars, priced for only $4.99, and Allegiant (Divergent Series) for just $6.99. Using Matchmaker, users can simply scan their Kindle library to see if any of the titles have the Audible version. Users can also add audio to bestsellers such as The Hunger Games series for $3.99, and choose from a selection of $0.99 old-time favorites including, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dracula, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer—saving customers as much as $10.00 plus and providing the benefits of voice. Each month, Amazon rewards customers with a highly-rated, free title to display the advantages of reading and listening.
