BEETLE /M Mainstream POS System
Our mainstream model, the BEETLE /M, assures maximum data security thanks to an integrated mergency power supply and lockable drives and is characterized by a high degree of flexibility and expandability for a system of its foot-print. For many customers the system therefore represents the deal platform for modular best-of-breed POS solutions.
Motherboards with Intel Pentium processors, the all-in-one Media GXm processor, Intel Celeron or Pentium III are available and are more than powerful enough to run the still widespread MS-DOS programs as well as more recent Windows- and Linux-based appli-cations with graphic user surface.
A wide range of standard PC and retail-specific interfaces as well as two I/O slots for expansion cards are available for attaching peripherals. A heavy-duty hard disk is provided for storing the system data, and a diskette drive, a PCMCIA adapter for memory cards and a CD-ROM/DVD drive are available as removable storage media. MS-DOS 6.22, Windows 32 and Linux are all offered as factory pre-installed operating systems for the BEETLE /M. This includes RDI, OPOS or JavaPOS drivers for the retail peripherals.
