Game Demo Events At BestBuy With Nintendo

Best Buy, in partnership with Nintendo, will be giving gamers in select stores the opportunity to play highly-anticipated Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U, far ahead of its release date, and will be offering special promos to customers on a first come-first serve basis.

On June 11, from 4 to 9 p.m. and June 14, from 1 to 5 p.m., more than 100 Best Buy stores will host the four-player demo of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Gamers will have the chance to brawl with other gamers, using their favorite players from popular video games including, Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, Pokémon, and many more iconic characters. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be available this summer, while Wii U players must wait for its release this winter. The content-packed game features 3D graphics, allowing for battles to take place in many different game settings from familiar stages of previous game titles.

The Best Buy event is the same as the one to take place at the E3 2014 video game trade show in Los Angeles this summer. The event is the world’s premier trade show for video and computer games, hosted by Entertainment Software Association (ESA). Over tens of thousands of leading companies, business partners, media and analysis from over 100 countries, including Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony, come together to experience brand-new technologies, games, and products for consoles, handheld systems, mobile, social, and the internet. With Super Smash Bros. being the hot topic among the E3 2014 event, Best Buy can expect a large turnout to experience the game before it’s out for sale.

The first 70 Best Buy customers at each event date that places pre-order game purchases for either module, will be rewarded with a rare collectible Super Smash Bros. gold coin. All customers that pre-order the game at the demos will be gifted with $5 Best Buy rewards cash, and another $5 when they pick up their game upon release, the distribution of store credit not only benefits customers, it also opens up an avenue for increased in-store traffic and purchases for Best Buy. Customers are also encouraged to bring their Nintendo 3DS or 2DS consoles to experience social gaming with StreetPass, allowing for fellow Best Buy gamers to challenge one another through console syncing, and to explore and purchase more games for their systems.
