MAHWAH, N.J. – Bombay & Co. Inc., a Canadian retailer offering large and small occasional furniture, wall décor and home accessories, has selected TD Retail Card Services to create and administer its private label credit card.

Under the agreement, the Mahwah, N.J-based business unit of TD Bank, N.A., will  direct all facets of the program for the Toronto-based company’s 50 stores located in Alberta, British Columbia, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec.  The new Bombay & Company credit card will offer consumers a full menu of deferred interest and equal pay programs.

The company, originally known as The Bombay Company, was founded in 1975 as a mail order business based in New Orleans, selling mahogany finished reproductions of 18th and 19th century English furniture. The “Bombay Company” name was intended to conjure up the glory days of the British Empire and the jewel of the empire, Bombay. In February 2008, the business was acquired by a family-owned company in Canada. Renamed Bombay & Co., Inc., the retailer is now 100% Canadian-owned and operated.
