Case Study: Centinela Feed Inc.
The ability to update all store related inventory transactions instantly, without dependence on the nightly polling batch process, to enable MMS® auto-replenishment to utilize real-time inventory information for calculating replenishment quantities. Inventory batch transaction processing consists of: Physical Inventory, Cycle Counts, Inventory Adjustments, PO Receiving, Carton Receiving, and Store-to-Store Transfers.
Current replenishment runs were generating average daily shipments of $4,200 (cost) worth of merchandise from the Centinela distribution center to each store. Because of issues associated with batch processing such as inventory discrepancies, stores not closing properly, stores not polling, contaminated files and inaccurate receipts in batch mode, Centinela estimates that replenishment under replenishes the stores by an average of 3% of daily sales, resulting in lost sales.
Eliminate inventory batch processing by installing RTC's Mobile Wireless Solution (MWS). MWS enables store personnel to perform all of their in-store inventory management functions, real-time, on MMS using wireless handhelds over their wide area network, updating MMS instantly. This eliminated the need to collect information at the stores during the day and transferring the data via batch uploads at night.
