If only all staff would use their skills to benefit the company. It is an unfortunate truth that when economic times are hard they impact both companies and staff in similar ways, but the result will often bring the two into conflict. Hard-pressed staff have bills to pay, mouths to feed and probably credit cards to pay off. The reality is that some are finding it increasingly tempting to help themselves to what looks like easy pickings from the company they work for. The retail work environment seems wide open for providing a little extra to the pay packet, and with all that money and stock around, who will ever notice just a small amount?
