Contactless Payment: Kum & Go Convenience Store Customers Can Now 'Tap & Go' With MasterCard PayPass
MasterCard Worldwide announced recently that one of the nation's leading convenience store chains, Kum & Go, will now accept MasterCard PayPass, an innovative contactless payment option, across its entire fleet of more than 450 store locations. In addition to traditional magnetic-stripe payment cards, Kum & Go will accept MasterCard PayPass at its check-out counters to provide customers with an even faster and more convenient store visit.
"As our name implies, our business is built on our ability to provide customers with superior service and maximum convenience, which includes adopting advanced payment methods," said Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go. "Whether customers come into our stores for a quick bite to eat or to fill up their gas tanks, with MasterCard PayPass, they now have an even faster way to pay and go."
Kum & Go customers can quickly pay for their purchases by simply tapping their PayPass-enabled MasterCard card or device on a PayPass reader. No longer do they need to fumble for cash or hand their card to a cashier to make basic purchases. MasterCard PayPass also eliminates the need for customers to sign receipts for purchases under $25, further speeding up the transaction.
"Focused on consumer expediency and satisfaction, convenience store retailers like Kum & Go provide an ideal setting for MasterCard PayPass since the technology is designed to provide greater speed and convenience at the point of sale," said T.J. Sharkey, senior vice president, U.S. Merchant Sales, MasterCard Worldwide.
MasterCard PayPass is currently accepted within several retail sectors, such as quick serve restaurants, sports stadiums and arenas, movie theaters, supermarkets, vending machines, and taxis- areas where speed and convenience are critical factors.
