Cornell-Mayo Takes Mobile POS Live At National Tier 1 Retailer
Cornell-Mayo to demonstrate its store-proven Omniexpress mobile POS at NRF 2011
Cornell-Mayo Associates (CMA) recently announced that it has successfully implemented its Omniexpress mobile point of sale (POS) solution at one of the nation's largest Tier 1 retailers. The rollout has been completed on Apple iPod terminals in more than 200 of the chain's stores thus far, with the remainder of the national rollout slated for completion in 2011.
Cornell-Mayo's award-winning Omnistore suite now supports all major mobile operating systems, including Apple's iOS (iPod touch, iPhone and iPad) and Google's Android OS. Since first rolling out its signature Omnistore POS solution to mobile devices (creating the Omniexpress mobile POS offering), CMA continues to expand its mobile features and offerings to cater to retail's fast-moving, on-the-go environment. Most recently, CMA has added mobile alerts and the Omniecho™ feature, which enables store managers to "pair" their mobile device with a register to see what is occurring and authorize transactions without the need to physically be at the register.
Omnistore, Cornell-Mayo's flagship POS solution, features a modern, lightweight service-oriented architecture (SOA) for both new and old hardware alike. Full back-office functionality is accessible from any device, from conventional PCs to mobile devices. Omnistore provides true platform independence and access to store systems from anywhere. Advanced features include touch screens, inter-store item location and sales, real-time trickling of information to the host, and numerous views of store and chain information including hyperlinks for easy navigation.
"It is great to see Omniexpress in action on the iPod at one of our longtime marquee customers," said Gene Cornell, president, Cornell-Mayo Associates. "At CMA, we create technology that is simple, streamlined, and easy to use while allowing retailers to customize it with all the rich features their unique businesses require. That is exactly what the latest generation of smartphone OS's is trying to do as well, so from our perspective, Cornell-Mayo software is an ideal match for mobile devices, both for in-store POS use as well as for regional and corporate managers to access key store info anytime, anywhere."
Cornell-Mayo will demonstrate its latest retail POS software solutions, including Omniexpress for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices, in booth #1952 at the National Retail Federation's NRF show, Jan. 10 & 11, 2011 at New York's Javits Convention Center.
