Some 80 million strong, the U.S. millennial generation — aged 18 to 37 — is bigger than the baby boom generation and three times the size of generation X. As millennials come of age and into their peak earning years, their buying power is significant. Millennials already account for an annual $1.3 trillion of consumer spending, and, by 2017, they are expected to outspend baby boomers, the generation that’s been the blockbuster economic engine for decades.
