Vendor Insight: Cyber Monday 2010: How Did Your Site Perform?

Source: Innovative Retail Technologies

By Eric Senunas, dynaTrace Software

Until recently, application uptime trumped individual transaction performance in the minds of most e-commerce executives. However, that has changed dramatically in the last year. At dynaTrace Software we've seen more than a 300% yearover- year growth in e-commerce customers. And that growth is accelerating, as the Web becomes even more central to driving sales.

We believe it's due to the prolonged slump the global economy has been suffering through as well as increasing competition in e-commerce. Companies can't afford to lose any sales, particularly in key sales periods; and with the growing predominance of e-commerce, companies cannot afford to have their site go down — particularly on days like Cyber Monday — and cause prospective customers to move one click away to complete the sale at a competitor.
