Retailers can now leverage the cloud to create an integrated IT infrastructure for cross-channel applications.
Cross-channel selling has become a top priority for today’s retailers. It represents a major opportunity for driving sales and customer loyalty, but managing cross-channel sales has resulted in substantial IT integration challenges for retailers. The benefits are easy to see: the more transparent you can make the shopping experience, the more likely you’ll get repeat business. Being able to research a product through social channels, purchase that product online, and then pick up and/or return it in store is a big deal for most customers. A 2010 study by Retail Systems Research (RSR) showed that customers who shop across channels are likely to be your best, most profitable customers. Although the challenges of cross-channel selling may appear overwhelming, there is a strategy available to any size retailer that can help ensure success.
