Larger Than a Handheld, Smaller Than Most Tablets

DT Research, Inc., an industry leader in the development of information appliances for vertical markets, recently announced the newest mobile tablet, the DT307SC. Featuring a 7” LED-backlight screen with capacitive touch, this ultra-mobile tablet weighs in at just over one pound, and offers an energy-efficient, yet high performance 800MHz processor.

The DT307SC integrates multiple data-capture options for streamlined operations. The magnetic stripe reader (MSR) processes payments cards and verifies data access; the 2D barcode scanner reads both 1D and 2D codes, quickly transmitting inventory details; the RFID reader recognizes  tags on equipment, in products, and on IDs; and the rear-facing camera with LED flash captures a picture of project status and verifies product placement.  All optional data capture modules are fully integrated for improved accuracy and efficiency.

The lightweight and slim, durable design, realize the true portability of the DT307SC, which has a larger and easier-to-read screen than a handheld, yet fits securely in the hand. The built-in Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n make the DT307SC ready to connect to any available wireless network, and on-screen soft keyboard adds to the ease-of-use, enabling efficient point-of-service/sale applications, inventory management, and field services.

With hot-swappable battery, several batteries can be standing by for continuous operation, keeping projects on track and improving productivity. The DT307SC supports Microsoft Windows Mobile or CE operating systems, making it flexible to integrate with third-party applications. The DT307SC makes data access efficient and optimizes staff workflow in any location.

As with most products from DT Research, the DT307SC includes the comprehensive remote management through the server-based WebDT Device Manager software. The DT307SC Mobile Tablet is available now from DT Research’s resellers.

The DT307SC is being showcased at the National Restaurant show in booth #6265 in Chicago from May 18-21.
