The adoption of EMV in the U.S. cripples fraudsters’ ability to make cloned cards since chip cards cannot be copied. Where does PCI compliance fit in?

As EMV is rolled out in the U.S., what is the future of PCI? EMV does not eliminate the need for PCI DSS and won’t replace it for the foreseeable future for two main reasons: The card number is still valuable, and widespread EMV acceptance is a long ways off.
