Global Research and Advisory Firm IHL Group Names Epicor Leading POS Software Vendor for Both Specialty Soft Goods and Hard Goods Retailers and a Leader in Mobile POS Software Market in New Reports
Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, recently announced the company has been named the number one vendor of point of sale (POS) software among the 200 leading specialty soft goods retailers and hard goods retailers for the fourth consecutive year in *studies published by global research and advisory firm IHL Group. As well, Epicor was named a leader in the fast growing North American mobile POS software market, according to another new **research report from IHL Group.

According the IHL study, Epicor is the leader in number of accounts and revenue share over other top POS vendors in IHL’sPOS Software for Softgoods Retailers report. This year also marks nine years that Epicor, and its acquired affiliates, have topped IHL’s annual leading POS software vendor ranking, that evaluates POS software installed among the leading 200 North American retailers in the specialty soft goods space including apparel, jewelry, luggage and shoes.
In IHL’s POS Software for Hardgoods Retailers report, Epicor leads in revenue share of the Top 200 hard goods retailers, retaining its first place position for a fourth consecutive year. IHL says mobile POS installs are expected to grow by 110% this year as more retailers replace electronic cash registers and POS terminals with mobile devices. And overall Mobile POS shipments will grow by over 325% by 2018.
“Specialty retailers are facing numerous challenges today; in particular, growing competition from mass merchants continues to create increasing economic pressure,” said Greg Buzek, founder and president of IHL Group. “Innovative use of technology can help them stay ahead of the curve, with the ability to anticipate and take advantage of changing trends being critical to success. Implementing the right technology can deliver the significant competitive edge they are looking for -- from traditional POS, mobile, and e-commerce, to CRM, cross-channel selling, merchandising, and inventory management -- all of which Epicor has in their solution suite. These are essential to help specialty retailers meet the evolving expectations of cross-channel shoppers today.”
“We are proud to again be recognized as the leading POS vendor in both IHL’s specialty soft goods and hard goods rankings, and a leader in the fast-growing mobile POS market – a testament to the value customers gain from Epicor solutions,” said Joe Cowan, president and CEO of Epicor. “We take a customer-first approach to all the markets we serve, and for our specialty retail customers, we are focused on helping them increase sales, boost consumer loyalty and create a better overall customer experience.
