First American Payment Systems (FAPS) To Release Ingenico's iWL250 3G Wireless Terminal

FAPS is first ISO/MSP to add terminal to its EMV-ready wireless payment equipment portfolio

Atlanta, GA — Ingenico, (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, and First American Payment Systems (FAPS), one of the nation’s top privately-held ISOs and merchant acquirers, today announced that FAPS has successfully certified Ingenico’s iWL250 3G wireless payment terminal for use on its extensive company-owned and operated processing network in the United States. FAPS becomes the first ISO/MSP to offer Ingenico’s 3G wireless EMV-ready payment device to merchants nationwide.

Built on Telium2 technology, the iWL250 3G terminal meets the latest PCI PTS version 3.0 security requirements. The terminal offers an ergonomic form factor and is well-equipped to securely handle all types of electronic payments, including the traditional magnetic stripe, EMV-chip card, contactless, and NFC-enabled mobile transactions. It comes standard with embedded diverse forms of payment processing technologies, which limits the need for expensive future hardware upgrades.

Our success is directly linked to our ability to meet the diverse payment processing needs of our tech savvy ISOs and merchants. We recognize that the entire payment ecosystem is changing rapidly and our merchants are looking for more advanced, secure and innovative POS technologies to grow their business,” said Brian Dorchester, Senior Vice President of Operations, First American Payment Systems. “By certifying Ingenico’s wireless terminal, we continue our commitment to merchants to supply the most innovative payment processing solutions and support the latest point-of-sale (POS) products that fit their unique payment processing needs.

The iWL250 terminal offers ‘all-in-one’ design and includes features such as high definition color screen, embedded contactless, and secure dual chip architecture. It supports both 3G and Bluetooth connectivity. Innovative engineering allows the terminal to be used as a countertop or a hand-over terminal, which makes iWL250 one of the most versatile and best-valued POS devices on the market today.

We are very pleased to have our flagship wireless terminal certified by FAPS. Their successful two-decade business record and a long-standing tradition to help merchants choose the right POS technology, positions the iWL250 as the POS wireless terminal of choice for their extensive customer base,” said Bernie Frey, Senior Vice President, US Acquirer Sales, at Ingenico North America. “The benefits to both small and medium merchants, is that the terminal enables secure acceptance of payment, and for the customer, it provides convenience to pay with any preferred form of electronic payment - be it an NFC mobile, contactless or EMV smartcard transaction.

Both Ingenico and FAPS will be participating at the upcoming ETA 2013 Annual Meeting & Expo in New Orleans next month. The iWL250 3G terminal will be readily available for demos and review in booth #544.
