Long Beach, CA, April 14, 2009 — Today Epson, a leading supplier of value-added Point of Sale (POS) solutions, announced that Game Crazy, the nation's second largest specialty game retailer, has installed Epson's TM-T88IV thermal POS printers with high-speed USB in all 560 stores. The rollout began in October 2008 and was completed in January. The product is being distributed through BlueStar USA.
"Consumer demand for video games has exploded, which has fueled our growth including the opening of new concept stores in 2009, "said Craig Miller, Senior Vice-President and CIO. "To successfully manage this growth, and deliver an exceptional customer experience, we knew that it was critical to improve the speed of service and efficiency in our stores. Our partnership with Epson allows us to meet these needs. The TM-T88IV is easy to use, and allows our associates to spend more quality time with our customers."
Game Crazy's Epson TM-T88IV POS printers are backed by Epson's Spare-In-The-Air® Program, a service that provides a fast, cost-effective alternative to on-site repair. If an Epson printer should fail for any reason, Game Crazy simply calls Epson and a replacement unit is express-shipped overnight. With Epson's Spare-In-The-Air Program, Game Crazy is assured quick service and minimal downtime.
With more than 4.5 million units shipped to date, the TM-T88-series is Epson's best-selling thermal POS printer. The TM-T88IV delivers outstanding reliability crucial to high-volume environments while offering fast, uniform print speed regardless of receipt complexity. Features include spill resistance, easy drop-in paper loading and seamless integration and connectivity. The TM-T88IV boasts a small footprint and the same dimensions as the TM-T88III for easy drop-in replacement. In addition, the TM-T88IV can be placed either on the countertop or wall using an optional wall-hanging bracket. Compatible with today's best-of-breed and component-based systems, the TM-T88IV offers multiple interface options, including high-speed USB, serial, parallel, Ethernet and wireless.
