GameStop Delivering Convenience With Upgraded PC Digital Distribution Service

GameStop, world’s largest multichannel video game retailer, announced Monday the release of its newly improved PC digital sales service, providing customers with a more convenient PC gaming experience.

As of Monday, customers can choose through over 1,500 downloadable PC video games to purchase at www.gamestop.com/pcgames. PC gamers now have the opportunity to easily access their purchased PC games by providing an email address to receive their receipt and downloading instructions for selected games. The site allows for customers to browse through special categories including, games under $10, newly featured games and the hottest deals—with a discounted price listed next to the original retail price of the game, showing customers how much they save. Browsing can be simplified through searching by genre of games, such as racing, action, shooter, strategy and more. Gamestop website connects to customers, offering recommended products and encouraging site visitors to give their personal input involving game systems and upcoming games through a short survey. Games can be purchased through the site or at any U.S GameStop store using cash, gift cards or trade credit. 

The GameStop PC App allows for direct downloads to app user’s PC. The app presents users with a game library manager for organization of all games. Through the GameStop PC App, users have access to exclusive deals on popular PC games and can socialize and play games online with other gamers.

Adding even more appeal to the launch of the updated program, from May 19 to June 2, GameStop is offering up to 85 percent off of downloaded PC games on catalog and new games from leading publishers including, SEGA, Rockstar, Electronic Arts, WB Games, Square Enix and even popular Indie developers.

For trade-in customers, GameStop is crediting them with 30 percent extra toward all PC digital products including downloads, Steam wallet cards and EA Origin cards. GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro member benefit even more, with in-store transactions they can receive an extra 40 percent of credit when they trade in used games or accessories in exchange for any PC downloads and products. 

Customers matter most to the company, as they tweaked the original PC digital distribution platform after receiving customer feedback over the past year, eliminating the lengthy, step-by-step purchase and downloading process. “Our enhancements simplify the process and offer customers a streamlined experience,” says Alan Walters, director of merchandising at GameStop.
