Harris Teeter Yearly Express Plan

Harris Teeter, supermarket chain, announced a new yearly payment option for customers who take advantage of the company’s Express Lane Online Shopping service.

In an effort to help customers save more, Harris Teeter has introduced a new payment plan for Express Lane Shoppers — $99.95 for a complete year of unlimited orders with no extra charges. Customers pay the service fee for the year and for the cost of groceries with each order. The company also offers an option of $4.95 for each single grocery trip and $16.95 for a month of the online service.

In mid-April, the company extended the convenient service to their new store located in Baltimore, MD, marking it as the 150th Harris Teeter store to implement the program. In 2000, Express Lane Online Shopping became available to customers in the company’s home town of Charlotte, NC and has grown ever since, making “grocery shopping as easy and convenient as possible.” Through Express Lane Online Shopping, customers order all of their groceries online, while store associates do the actual shopping. When placing orders online, customers have the option to specify special instructions according to preference of products, for example, “ripe avocados” or “extra-large apples.”  Side-notes can be made for substitutions in case an item is out of stock. If an item on-sale requires a substitute, customers still save, as Harris Teeter grants them the sale price of original item. Alcohol and tobacco products are available for express lane purchasing, customers will be asked for ID at pickup. Store associates need a four hour window of time to pick out the best quality of produce and groceries for customers.  Select stores have a delivery option also available.

Customers never need to leave the car, as employees load groceries and accept all transactions right at the car window. Offering even more convenience, the service accepts payments to be processed online with checks and credit cards. Coupons and special promos are credited during time of transaction.

“While they are running kids to and from soccer practice and managing their busy lives, we take care of the shopping,” states Danna Jones, Communication Specialist.
