In an era of retailing marked by constant chatter about crosschannel customer connections, "touch points," if you will, Aldi chooses to not publish store phone numbers anywhere.
I learned this quirk of the quirkiest of grocers the hard way recently when I chose to explore the Aldi phenomenon. I had some groceries, a lot of groceries, to buy for a group camping trip. The group was all guys, none of us as concerned with cuisine as we were with cerveza, so quality took a backseat to caloric value.
