The Home Depot Opens Processing Center Direct Orders To Support The Online Business
Atlanta, GA /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ - The Home Depot ®, the largest home improvement retailer in the world, today announced the opening of its new center for processing direct orders (DFC for short English) in Locust Grove, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta.
It is the first of three new DFCs that the company will open in the United States over the next two years, adding more than three million square feet and about 1,000 jobs to its supply chain.
The new distribution centers will increase the number of orders the company can ship the day they are received, increasing the speed of delivery for orders HomeDepot.com.
The company is also allowing selection and sent faster through new warehouse management systems and material handling.

The DFCs will have about 100,000 products, extending the aisle of The Home Depot more than 35,000 products generally available in regular physical store.
The DFC of Locust Grove will initially employ approximately 125 associates, and eventually employ approximately 300 associates. DFCs future opening is expected in Perris, California and Troy, Ohio.
