How To Boost Business Sustainability In The Changing Retail Landscape
We’re approaching the end of 2017, and one of the most dominant stories of the year has been what many media outlets call “the retail apocalypse.”
What is the retail apocalypse? In short, it’s the idea that retailers can’t compete as online commerce (or, mostly just Amazon) continues to grow.
But we think the story has been greatly exaggerated. The truth is that retailers have plenty of reasons for optimism, because companies that have evolved and adapted to today’s landscape are thriving.
Here are three areas to focus on to boost make sure your business sustains itself as we move into the future of retail.
1.Offer a better customer experience.
While the retail apocalypse is most certainly not here, it’s still true that you’re still competing with a consumer’s option to order Amazon and never leave their couch. You need to offer customers an experience that beats Amazon and makes their visit worthwhile.
How do you do it? Think of the big chains that are thriving these days, names like Chick Fil A or Wegmans. These are chains that offer attractive stores and pride themselves on helpful associates.
