How To Deliver Mobile Coupons From Displays And Kiosks

Source: Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc.

In this article, Gail Tanner, director of social media and mobile marketing at Frank Mayer and Associates, Inc. discusses how the adoption of mobile devices among consumers as a shopping tool have caused organizations to begin looking for ways to deliver mobile coupons from an interactive kiosk or display.

Retailers have shown interest in mobile couponing as a method to combat showrooming by enticing consumers with coupons and displays to buy immediately and the mobile coupons give retailers the ability to directly ask consumers to opt-in for an ongoing text messaging program.

Tanner says, “I think when marketers ask us about delivering coupons, they’re hoping there is something magical out there that will work on a broad enough scale that is better than the usual tactics of text messaging and QR codes. The short answer is there will be. The long answer is not just yet."

Mobile coupons can be delivered in many ways, either through text, QR code scanning, near field communication (NFC), or other methods.
