Even as retailers continue to move toward lean operations, investments in self-service technologies are growing. This is, in part, because self-service technologies provide valued services for consumers and improve the shopping experience – while allowing retailers to shift resources to critical store functions.
When implementing self-service technologies – such as kiosks, self checkouts or price checkers – retailers often have little previous experience to use as a baseline.
