New CX1 Self-Checkout System addresses unique space requirements of convenience, hard goods and drug stores
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- HP today announced the availability the HP CX1 Self-Checkout System, which gives companies more choices on how they can deploy their staff. By providing customers with the option to complete the checkout process on their own, store employees are able to engage with customers on the store floor where they can deliver greater value.
The HP CX1 Self-Checkout System offers a range of configurations for space-constrained retail environments. It is based on the popular HP RP7 Retail System, which provides peak performance and a durable, sealed touch screen display that stands up to demanding retail environments.

The CX1 lets customers choose a sometimes a faster self-checkout experience.”
The HP CX1 Self-Service System is available in a range of configurations to meet specific store format and needs.
Choice of cashless, cash acceptance or cash-dispensing models to facilitate cash-back feature.
Choose a single-bag-platform with support for optional weight-based security to help ensure that the item scanned is the same item bagged, or choose no bagging for extremely space-constrained environments.
Adjustable shelf to provide customers with a place to set additional items while conducting their transactions.
Gives retailers front access to all components and offers tool-less removal of select components making the units easy to service.

The CX1offers Windows® Embedded POSReady 2009, preinstalled, and runs on a Dual core Intel® Core™ i3-2120 and features Intel® HD Graphics 2000.
The CX1 provides flexibility and ease of deployment because it is compatible with a variety of software solutions that retailers already use. HP has partnered with several Point of Sale (POS) software providers to certify their software to natively run on the unit. It can also be connected to existing POS software using customized middleware, which allows retailers to add a self-service option without changing their existing software .
