Terminal Services was developed to meet the requirements of customers who have a significant investment in IBM 4690/4680 hardware and software and who desire a migration path for upgrading to an open systems platform.
- Supports the IBM 4684, 4693, 4694 and SurePOS™ 700 Series systems
- Supports a wide variety of IBM peripherals including IBM SureMark™ Printers
- Supports IBM General Sales, Supermarket and Chain Store Applications
- Attaches to 4690 controllers via Ethernet, Token-Ring or IBM Store Loop
- Compatible with the IBM 4690 Controller Services Feature for Windows NT
- Supports only disk-based workstations
- POS peripheral replacement is supported
