The recent approval of the 802.11n wireless networking standard is very exciting for retailers because it enables the convenience of high-speed networking without the cost or challenges of cabling all retail locations. Wireless connectivity can be added for POS locations, bar code scanners, displays, and laptops of traveling store personnel, as well as back office devices such as training stations and printers. Separate wireless channels can also be added to give customers the benefit of wireless access, without affecting the performance of the store's network.
