Retailers strive to optimally manage all their transportation and distribution activities so they can coordinate, redirect, and keep deliveries on schedule. When transportation management isn't a retailer's core competency, outsourcing or partnering with a company that specializes in that area is key to maintaining customer satisfaction. BrandsMart USA (BrandsMart), a Florida-based consumer electronics retailer with 10 brick-and-mortar locations, one DC, and an e-commerce platform, relied on an independent delivery service as well as BrandsMart employees to make home deliveries. But, as Lary Sinewitz, executive VP at BrandsMart explains, the retailer needed a transportation management team that could not only make on-time deliveries, but also understand the various new technologies associated with today's complex consumer electronics products in order to ensure proper installation.
