Article: Intelligent Technology

By Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America

Providers throughout the security industry use the term Intelligent Technology to describe their products. Since there is no objective definition for this term, it can be used to mean a number of different things – from better image capture in changing light conditions to real time video analytics and VSM software. In each case, the technology enables various system products to perform functions that would formerly have required human intervention, making information more manageable and useful. In many cases, this also enables management to allocate personnel resources more efficiently. Of course, the ultimate goal is to achieve a better user experience and improved security.
