Island Pacific Provides Retailers With Gateway To Mobile Retailing

Island Pacific, a leading global provider of software solutions and services to the retail industry, has launched the Island Pacific Mobile Gateway, a software development kit which enables retailers to rapidly deliver in-store mobile retailing by integrating their existing point of sale and ERP systems with an in-store Island Pacific Mobile solution.

Island Pacific Mobile’s POS and inventory management software enables retailers to engage with customers, provide product advice and perform sales operations on the retail floor, helping alleviate long impersonal register queues and enhancing the role of store associates as pro-active salespeople.

Key features include speedy and interactive sales transactions, customer loyalty, options to email digital receipts, laybys, special orders, cross-channel orders, stocktake, stock transfers, and stock receipt from suppliers or warehouses.

The new IP Gateway integration service brokers requests from the Island Pacific Mobile software running on mobile devices within a store and securely manages the integration with the retailers existing systems. By mobilising store staff, retailers are able to deliver improved customer service and a contemporary shopping experience, while at the same time improving their flexibility to support the peaks of in-store demand without significant investment in fixed technology.
