Lawson Software Helps Protect Applications Faster With Lawson Security Fasttrack

Lawson Software, recently announced the availability of Lawson Security FastTrack, a solution that combines a rapid implementation methodology and pre-built content to help reduce the time needed to define, implement and test Lawson Security 9.0. Security development and consulting experts designed Lawson Security FastTrack to include a preconfigured and customizable set of task-based security classes, processes, templates, training modules and tools to help customers implement Lawson Security 9.0 in as little as six weeks.

The Moffitt Cancer Center, located in Tampa, Fla., used Lawson Security FastTrack to help speed its Lawson Security 9.0 implementation. Lawson Security FastTrack provided more than 75 percent of the institution's security requirements out of the box. With this much work already completed, Moffitt Cancer Center was able to focus on the exceptions and business rules needed around its specific operational and audit expectations.

"Lawson Security FastTrack was the single biggest success factor in our security implementation," said Mark Cook, Lawson team lead, Moffitt Cancer Center. "Lawson Security FastTrack saved us months of time and effort by providing a cost effective, time-saving model for our Lawson Security 9.0 deployment."

Lawson Security 9.0 is a flexible security platform designed around the business processes and security needs of Lawson customers. This level of configurability is possible through a roles- and rules-based security architecture that assigns a list of security rules and permissions to individual roles within a company. For instance, an accounts payable clerk will have access to a different set of information in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system than a quality control manager. With Lawson Security FastTrack and Lawson Security 9.0, companies can quickly give employees access to the information they need to do their job while protecting access to other data.

Moffitt Cancer Center chose Lawson Security 9.0 because of its task-based approach to security. Through this model, Moffitt Cancer Center was able to secure the data in its enterprise software systems to address audit needs, secure employees' personal information and target the access needs of its users.

"Finding innovative ways to make Lawson implementations faster, simpler and more cost-effective for our customers is a top priority," said Tracy Prochaska, marketing director, services and support for Lawson. "Lawson Security FastTrack is one example of how we help our customers accelerate the implementation process based on their specific business requirements."
