Loss Prevention: ADT Announces Web Access For Loss Prevention And Operational Data

ADT Security Services, a part of Tyco International, recently announced a new Web reporting service for its Sensormatic SmartEAS Solutions allowing retailers to remotely access reports on operational activities from any secure Internet connection. This provides end-users with an easy-to-use centralized Web portal to review critical business data that can be analyzed and used to make operations more efficient and save costs.

The Sensormatic SmartEAS Web Reporting tool allows retailers to view all anti-theft, people counting and operational data reports from multiple retail locations. Retailers can view data from a specific single store or on a regional or chain-wide basis and reports can be customized and organized to meet the specific needs of each user.

"Combining the Web Reporting tool with Sensormatic SmartEAS solutions allows retailers to take full advantage of operational and anti-theft data," said Jeffrey Bean, vice president ADT Retail Sales and Operations. "Being able to easily access this customized data at any time gives them the ability to quickly make adjustments for a more efficient operating environment and increased profitability."

The Web reporting tool offers a number of advantages and benefits for retailers including:

  • Easy access to customized operational data reports.
  • Reports that can be viewed without additional reporting software on individual computers.
  • Reduced costs by eliminating the need for handwritten logs and manually created reports.
  • The ability to focus attention on potential problem areas by looking at sales conversion rates, EAS system performance and monitoring and measuring anti-theft alarms.

"This information is critical for helping retailers to better manage day-to-day and long-term operations," said Bean. "Web Reporting puts this information at the retailers' finger tips and helps them make critical management decisions based on reliable data."

The Web Reporting tool comes in two models – a retailer and an ADT-managed model. The retailer model allows authorized users to access secure reports within the retailer's network. The ADT-managed model allows authorized users with an encrypted password access via a secure Web site maintained by ADT. In the ADT-managed model reports are available via email or on the Web site.

Reports come in a variety of formats including PDF, Excel spreadsheets and graphs, tables or charts.
