Loss Prevention Foundation And Retail Council Of Canada Announce Partnership For Certification Program
Recently, the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) and Retail Council of Canada (RCC) are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership offering professional certification to retail loss prevention professionals across Canada. Through their combined efforts, LPF and RCC will work to ensure that their certification programs provide a well-rounded curriculum for the Canadian loss prevention community.
The Loss Prevention Foundation's "LPQ" certification program was launched in 2008 under the developmental direction of Knapp & Associates International, a leading certification consulting firm. The certification is designed to be a benchmark education venue for entry level loss prevention professionals such as Supervisors, Store Managers, College Students, and Select Hourly Employees or for those interested in entering the loss prevention profession. LPF is in the final stage of receiving academic credit for the successful completion of the LPQ. The "LPC", scheduled for official release later this year, is designed as an advanced education program for loss prevention management and executives, such as DLPM's, RLPM's, prospective DLPM's, and other future leaders of the loss prevention industry.
"LPF is very pleased to be part of this partnership. We believe the Loss Prevention Foundation's certifications will effectively complement the Retail Council of Canada's mission of providing quality education to the Canadian loss prevention community" said Gene Smith, LPF President. "By partnering with other leaders in the retail industry such as RCC we make positive strides toward long overdue formal recognition to the specialized profession".
"This invaluable partnership will help RCC ensure that we are delivering the highest quality training and education for retail loss prevention professionals in Canada," said Theresa Rowsell, Director, Loss Prevention, Training and Education, Retail Council of Canada. "By combining our efforts and resources, we bring industry validated accreditation to the North American retail sector providing consistency in the specialized competencies and knowledge base that are inherent in fundamental retail loss prevention".
"This agreement signifies once again the need for industry specific certification but also the quality of the certification content. We are excited to have another major trade association support this industry initiative", stated Frank Johns, Chairman, The Loss Prevention Foundation.
The Loss Prevention Certification program is currently endorsed by the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), Food Marketing Institute (FMI), the International Organization of Black Security Executives (I.O.B.S.E.), National Food Service Security Council (NFSSC), HospitalityLawyer.com, the Center for Interviewer Standards & Assessment, Ltd. (CISA), developer of the Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) certification and The Retail Council of Canada (RCC).
