The National Retail Federation Big Show often serves to showcase what we as retailers can expect from the coming year, and this year, one trend simply cannot be ignored: the increasing importance and emphasis on m-marketing. The m stands for mobile, and the name of the game is finding out how to best connect with the customer via their cell phones. Let me begin this by saying the text message is king. If there is one piece of information that we need to be collecting from our customers, it's their cell phone number — but luckily, there are a number of ways to get the customer to share that with us.
