Meijer Unveils New Grocery Store Concept To Bring Fresh, Convenient Shopping Options Closer To Home

The retailer will open two Meijer Grocery stores in southeastern Michigan in 2023

Grand Rapids, MI /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ - In its latest innovation to offer a shopping solution tailored to each customer, Meijer today introduced a new physical store concept, called Meijer Grocery , which will be a convenient option for customers looking for a simplified shopping experience while offering communities easier access to fresher food.

The first two Meijer Grocery stores will open in early 2023 in neighborhoods in Orion and Macomb Townships in southeastern Michigan. The new concept is the retailer's latest since it first introduced the neighborhood mini-market concept in August 2018 with the opening of Bridge Street Market on Grand Rapids ' west side .

"Now , Meijer Grocery will offer the local community the same combination of freshness and value in a food-focused format."

The Meijer Grocery stores will be between 75,000 and 90,000 square feet, and will include the following departments in a small, easy-to-navigate space:

• Fresh products
• fresh meat counter
• Bakery with cake decorators in the same store
• all delicatessen
• dry groceries
• Pharmacy
• Health and beauty care products
• Babies, pets and consumer items
• Cards, items for celebrations and flowers

Meijer Grocery will also offer the same convenient ways to shop and save as a Meijer supercenter, such as mPerks, Shop and Scan, Meijer Home Delivery and Pickup. In addition to their smaller size, the design of the Meijer Grocery stores will be convenient as they will have parking attached to a unique corner driveway to maximize the number of parking spaces near the door.
