NCR POS And Self-Service Systems Support Microsoft Windows Embedded For Point Of Service

NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) today announced support for the Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform on the entire line of NCR RealPOS terminals and NCR EasyPoint kiosks.

Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service is a software platform optimized for retail and hospitality solutions, and the first to provide peripheral plug-and-play functionality to facilitate implementation and integration with existing systems. The platform incorporates a full complement of retail-specific technologies, including support for current and next-generation applications and peripheral devices.

Windows Embedded for Point of Service also is designed to help retailers reduce operating system and application development costs, deployment costs, maintenance costs and POS hardware costs. In addition, it offers the longest published support policy - 10 years.
