Neiman Marcus Group Announces Permanent Free Shipping, Returns
The Neiman Marcus Group has announced that it will now be offering permanent free standard shipping for all domestic online and in-store purchases. For international customers, all orders over 100 dollars will ship for free. The permanent free shipping offer also applies to purchases made in the Bergdorf Goodman store and on its website.
In addition, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman have made many technical enhancements to their stores in an effort to strengthen relationships with their customers. Every Neiman Marcus associate has been equipped with a smart phone featuring numerous apps that enable associates to keep in touch with customers about alterations, item deliveries, and new items of interest. Similarly, various departments throughout the store have had iPads installed to help customers access online and in-store inventory.
The company has also been concerned with altering its online presence to provide customers with a luxury shopping experience. Not only has their website been redesigned to reflect the style of their quarterly publication, the site is now more convenient for those ordering both domestically and internationally. Domestic customers can find products in nearby stores by using the “find in store” button, while international customers are now able to select their preferred currency. Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman are also launching a replenishment service, which allows online customers to replenish stocks of beauty essentials and other items and have them automatically shipped at the customer’s preferred interval.
This permanent free shipping offer, along with the additional enhancements, are all part of Neiman Marcus’ recent efforts to improve customer service. According to the Neiman Marcus chief marketing officer Wanda Gierhart, permanent free shipping and returns have been a top request made by Neiman Marcus customers. The timing of this new offer — right before the holiday season — puts Neiman Marcus in an ideal position to compete with other retailers, such as Nordstrom, which already offers permanent free shipping.
