New Competitively Priced CTB-5 Bonder Applies Tagless Product ID And Care Label Information To Garments, Footwear Components
A new versatile, competitively priced heat transfer bonder that applies tagless product identification and care instructions to apparel and footwear components is now available from Avery Dennison Printer Systems. The product, called the AVERY DENNISON CTB-5 Heat-Transfer Bonder, applies preprinted heat transfers to T-shirts, underwear, bras, athleticwear tops, bottoms, socks and more in a range of fabrics that includes cotton, polyester, nylon and silk. The system also applies heat transfers to footwear components, such as athletic shoe innersoles.
The AVERY DENNISON CTB-5 is driven by pressurized air and features an industrial-grade air cylinder for reliable performance. The bonder employs heat to apply transfers that are fed automatically from a label roll; it also applies cut-single heat transfers. The system can be equipped with a custom-made heat-transfer plate and platform to fit specific application requirements. This ensures the application of vivid, highly legible images, including logos, bar codes and text, without "ghosting" effects.
"Unlike many comparable heat-transfer bonders, the AVERY DENNISON CTB-5 can be fitted with custom components for optimal performance in apparel and footwear component applications," says Dan Williams, marketing manager, Avery Dennison Printer Systems.
"In addition, the system is backed by Avery Dennison's global technical support and customer service capabilities. Apparel-industry customers worldwide can readily obtain technical assistance and replacement parts. In-stock parts for the CTB-5 are shipped within 24 hours of ordering, minimizing downtime."
Adjustable Temperature and Dwell Time
The bonder's heat-transfer temperature and dwell time are operator-adjustable to ensure proper bonding and to prevent damage to delicate fabrics. During operation, the user positions an item to be labeled and then activates the bonder by simultaneously pressing two buttons spaced 12 inches apart, ensuring operator safety. The bonder operates according to preset time and temperature parameters, and accurately applies the transfer to the targeted area.
The AVERY DENNISON CTB-5 accommodates label rolls in diameters from 4 to 10 inches. It can apply preprinted Avery Dennison heat-transfer labels, as well as transfers produced by other manufacturers.
