SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Fujitsu America today introduced its TeamPoS(R) 3600 family of point-of-sale (POS) systems, designed to give retailers a scalable hardware system that offers an optimal price-performance fit.

The product family can be custom-configured to meet a retailer's cost and performance needs, and will be offered through Fujitsu channel partners and the company's direct sales force.

"With the TeamPoS 3600 system, we've expanded the breadth of our TeamPoS 3000 family to include a scalable solution that meets the needs of the SMB retailer market," said Michelle DuBreuil, strategic marketing manager for store technology at Fujitsu America. "By offering the systems through our channel partners, we'll ensure that retailers not only have a robust, custom-configured system, but will also receive the value-added services our partners provide."

Retailers can select from a wide range of Intel(R) processor and memory options, as well as various input/output modules. The TeamPoS 3600 family includes four basic models:
  • TeamPoS 3604 — Intel(R) Celeron(R) 440 2.0 GHz/533 MHz processor
  • TeamPoS 3625 — Intel(R) Dual Core(TM) E5300 2.6 GHz/800 MHz processor
  • TeamPoS 3627 — Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo E7400 2.8 GHz/1066 MHz processor
  • TeamPoS 3628 — Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo E8400 3 GHz/1333 MHz processor

Product features include:
  • Long-term performance — Offers desktop architecture and a lifecycle-managed platform based on the Intel(R) embedded roadmap for the longest product service life.
  • System scalability/flexibility — Intel processors range from Celeron(R) to the most powerful Core(TM)2 Duo processors. This, combined with a wide range of memory options, a variety of I/O board modules, and ample PCI expansion capabilities, lets retailers easily perform future upgrades as business requirements become more demanding.
  • Unsurpassed peripheral power support — More peripheral power than any other leading POS terminal.
  • Intel(R) vPro(TM) technology — Intel(R) vPro(TM) technology provides enhanced security, remote manageability and industry-leading performance. In addition, Intel AMT technology (part of Intel's vPro) helps retailers better discover, heal, and protect networked computing assets.
  • Superior serviceability — Components are easy to replace and can be accessed without tools, for ease of maintenance and increased uptime.
  • Open architecture platform — Lowers development costs for new and existing systems through compliance with industry-standard operating systems, POS/JPOS, PC tools and utilities and I/O interfaces.
  • Environmental compliance — Meets RoHS and WEEE compliance standards that protect retailers' investments and ensure a long, useful life.
  • Advanced manageability —SmartPoS Manager from Fujitsu, in conjunction with Intel(R) vPro/AMT technology, provides extensive controller and POS peripheral diagnostics, monitoring and asset management.
