ShopRite announced recently that it has begun construction on its newest store, set to open in Yardley, PA this summer. Located in the Oxford Oaks Shopping Center on Big Oak Road, the new ShopRite of Yardley will be owned and operated by the ShopRite of Hunterdon County, a family-owned business that currently owns and operates three additional ShopRite stores in New Jersey. Led by second generation grocer and president Joseph Colalillo, ShopRite of Hunterdon County will also open a fifth ShopRite store in Bethlehem Township, PA later this year.

“We are very excited to extend our company’s long history of offering value, quality and outstanding customer service to our new Eastern Pennsylvania neighbors,” said Mr. Colalillo. “As a family-owned business we are personally committed to supporting the communities we serve and to providing them with the very best that ShopRite has to offer. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Yardley community.”

A 57,000 square foot, state-of-the-art supermarket, the new ShopRite of Yardley will offer a broad array of groceries and fresh produce, as well as several services that ShopRite customers have come to expect including: a pharmacy; a from scratch fresh bake shop featuring store made bread, donuts and pastries, as well as an onsite cake decorator; fresh meat cut to order; a floral department; fresh seafood delivered daily; and a catering coordinator to help customers with all of their entertaining needs. The store will also feature a broad selection of natural and organic products in every department. ShopRite of Yardley customers can also enjoy a wide selection of freshly prepared meals from a hot buffet bar, entrees and gourmet delicacies to take home and call their own, a Mediterranean olive bar and cheeses from around the world.

As a part of a commitment to helping customers live happier, healthier lives, the ShopRite of Yardley will have an on-site registered dietitian who will offer free consultation, store tours or meal planning to customers. The store will also offer ShopRite from Home, a convenient online shopping service where customers can place their order online, have it personally shopped for them and then picked up in-store or delivered to their homes.

An additional feature for busy customers at the ShopRite of Yardley will be Scrunchy’s Playhouse, a free onsite childcare facility where children can play in a fun and safe setting while their parents shop.

Renovating a long vacant site within the shopping center, the ShopRite of Yardley will be outfitted with the latest energy-saving and sustainable technologies in refrigeration and lighting, including glass doors on the dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting and environmentally-friendly refrigerant systems.
