Observint Technologies Unveils New Solstice™ NVR Line
Plug-and-play NVR is “easy as analog”, priced under $1000
Austin, TX – Observint Technologies announced today the launch of a 16-Channel Embedded Network Video Recorder (NVR); the first in the company’s new Solstice™ line of high-performance, aggressively-priced video security products. The compact NVR provides a powerful turn-key IP security solution, ideal for small to medium-sized businesses and residential surveillance applications.
Optimized for low power consumption, the all-in-one Solstice 16-Channel Embedded NVR comes loaded with full-featured, intuitive video management software and a pre-installed surveillance-grade 2TB hard drive, upgradable to 6TB. A powerful auto-detect feature enables instant detection and connection to a wide range of compatible IP cameras and devices. The NVR also features a fully-customizable notification engine, allowing users to easily create rules and alerts triggered by video and data events.
The Solstice NVR runs on a Linux-based operating system for increased stability (vs. a Windows-based operating system) and protection against viruses and malware. The ONVIF-compliant device works with popular web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari, and is certified and integrated with major IP camera manufacturers including Sony, IQinVision, AXIS, Vivotek, 3S Vision, LG, ACTi, Panasonic and others. The web-based user interface does not require PC software installation, and features an intuitive design for ease of operation.
“The Solstice™ NVR is a game-changer,” says George Farley, Chief Marketing Officer at Observint Technologies, “designed to overcome common barriers many people face when considering IP video surveillance – complexity and cost. We are extremely excited to make IP video solutions more accessible to the broader security market, without compromising on the performance, scalability, and stability that decision-makers look for when choosing a VMS platform.”
The Solstice 16-Channel Embedded NVR is aggressively-priced, with MAP pricing under $1000 (for the 2TB model). The NVR is currently available through Supercircuits and Security Cameras Direct, and Observint shared plans to offer the product through a broader network of distribution partners in the near future. The company also shared plans to release a 4-channel model in November.
