What can happen to you and/or your organization, if you fail to implement or adhere to, the Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS) compliance rules?

Indicated below is fundamental information you should know regarding your signature capture and pin pad investment. There are three categories of devices and each one has its own set of mandates, concerns and advantages. Also indicated are just a few devices that have been produced and are not PCI PED compliant.

Currently there are three types PIN Entry Devices (PED) in use:

1. Non-Approved Devices (Pre 2004)
2. VISA PED Approved Devices (2003 – 2006)
3. PCI PED Approved Devices (2006 onwards)
